Hailing from Scotland, Necronoclast was conceived in the depths of Autum 2003. Necronoclast is a solo project, with roots in the realms of early Burzum and mid-period Katatonia, but with its own vibe and aesthetic. Necronoclast is all about negative atmosphere, capturing an entrancing sense of dread and foreboding. The name "Necronoclast" refers to a rejection of religious principles, and a fear and worship of the Dead.
Necronoclast's early years were spent working on several demo recordings, and culminated with the recording of the first album "Monument", which was completed in 2006 and released in Spring 2007 by Korean label Infernal Kaos Productions.
After completing work on "Monument", Necronoclast began writing music for the second album, "The Plague", the recording of which was completed in May 2007.
Following a strong response to "Monument", Necronoclast signed to Moribund Records, the first step being the upcoming release of "The Plague" in November 2007. A full re-release of "Monument" is to follow.
Meanwhile, new nightmares are forming...
